Sen. Wyden moves to tighten rules on terrorism investigations in Patriot Act
Moving to slow what they view as a dangerous rush to renew the Patriot Act, Senator Ron Wyden and [Dick Durbin of Illinois and Russ Feingold of Wisconsin], asked U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to declassify information about the government’s broad authority to vacuum up business records during terrorism investigations.
Wasn’t there a time when Republicans were worried about governmental intrusion on private life?
